Dragonflies

The Odonata order, comprising the dragonflies and damselflies, are ancient creatures that have existed alongside the dinosaurs hundreds of millions of years ago.

These flying insects are very easy to miss while marching along the trails, but if we were to just stand still for a while, we will be able to spot these attractive buzzing flies and enjoy their dazzling colourful displays.

We hope to be able to encounter all 130 species of dragonflies and damselflies that inhabit our tiny isle. Here are just a few that we have stalked along the way.
